I lived through this era and this is the first time I have ever heard them called ‘belt bag’ and I like it! Hip pouch/pack and fanny pack are the normal labels where I’m from.
lucky you. belt bag is war crime level of fashion. down here pretty much every thug and loan shark in the area had one and it is still considered a poor taste accessory.
Judging from the haircut on the model, they are explicitly positioning themselves outside the fashion mainstream.
oh well, hope she’s not too deep into loan sharking because these guys end up in a bad way

Nah, 90’s haircuts were just like that. I had the mushroom top cut at some point as well.
Where were you? I was definitely paying attention to hairstyles in the 90s and don’t remember this one.
Southeast US, so it’s entirely possible we were on a 5-10 year fashion lag. Although I’d consider this less like 80s hair because it’s not teased and blown to high heaven.
NE US for me… don’t know too much about the South, but I remember some of you really went for the foundation back in the day.
