Except the stove didn’t even know the time changed. My stove, at least, only would blink if the power went out. When the time changed, it’d just be an hour off.
My stove is off by whatever hours from 00:00 that I finally got annoyed by it’s blinking after the last power cut. Currently according to every other clock is 08:30, my stove will try to convince you it’s 13:15.
I mean.
Why not go full technology?
If daylight savings is to move the hours us humans operate in the world to make better use of the sun… Why not have all phones and devices move the tiny amount each day? Like have them adjust at 2am by 1 minute every few days…

Probably because lots of programs expect a day to be 24 hours not 24.001 hours. Maybe we can change the definition of a second to be slightly longer, so that a day is exactly 24 hours and a year is exactly 365 days, and all the programs can stay the same

I have no idea what timezone my car thinks it’s in, but at least I know it’s not calling back anywhere to sync it.
Mine is confused about timezones, because for some reason the clocks on the dashboard and on the middle screen are separate, but I never set the one on the screen because I never look at it so I forget it exists.
Thank goodness we no longer all have VCRs.
We stopped doing daylight savings in Western Australia and it was literally unnoticeable when it stopped. The only reason I remember it’s even a thing is when I need to calculate the time difference in the eastern states and it’s either two or three hours different depending on time of year because they still do it.

My body knows, and so does everyone else’s, whether it informs their conscious mind or not. That’s the real problem.
Well… also my wall clocks. And my analog alarm clock. Plus you know, the sun and my kids waking me up and whatnot.
But yeah, I guess my phone will change on its own.
