I’m a child of the '80s.
- ELO - Mr Blue Skies is a mathematically perfect song
- Boston - More Than a Feeling and Don’t Look Back
- Bangles - Walk Like an Egyptian and Hazy Shade of Winter
- Katrina and the Waves - Walking on Sunshine
- Dire Straits - Twistin’ by the Pool
Rare to see anyone mention anything by Boston that’s not their debut album! Don’t Look Back is fantastic.
Depeche Mode’s Just Can’t Get Enough of course, what a banger!
Junior Senior - Move Your Feet https://youtu.be/SPlQpGeTbIE
Kickstart my heart!
Rainbow by Kesha
Yellow by Jodie Whittaker
NOFX - All outta angst
Blister in the sun! 👏👏 👏👏
Sofa no.2 by Zappa always lifts my spirit. More recently, I’d have to go for Super graphic ultra modern girl by Chappel Roan. Fucking love that song
Iko-Iko by Zap Mama
Love train by Holly Johnson
You make time stand still
You’re children’s laughter

REM - Shiny Happy People
Kate really, really makes it and yes, I know REM hated the song and only wrote it as a piss take, not expecting it to succeed… but it’s awesome :)
nimino - ‘I Only Smoke When I Drink’
I remember that song! I blasted it in my car damn near crying with joy while I drove home right after passing my checkride to earn my pilot license awhile back
That’s awesome! That’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid. I keep telling myself I’ll do it someday just for the experience of being able to fly a plane.
try taking a “discovery flight” if there’s any flight training places near you! usually it’s an hour with an instructor but very low pressure, basically just bringing you up in a small plane and letting you do some of the easy stuff
I’ll definitely look into that. I’ve heard there are many flight schools in my area.
Eagles - Take It Easy
Aphex Twin - “Blue Calx” (#13 from ambient works 2)
Tycho - Awake
Steely Dan - Peg
Ray Parker Jr. - Ghostbusters
Ghostbusters is on my mind since I’m performing that song on my synth with a band next weekend, and been practicing with them for a few months. It’s such a BANGER.
Video from some of my earlier solo practice of the song: https://packmates.org/@noxypaws/117147431648135862
Anything in the ska genre. Upbeat, trumpets are involved, catchy. Superman by Goldfinger. Sellout by Reel Big Fish. Impression That I Get by Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
Jinjer - Pisces because it’s the most awesome song ever made.
As far as I know, this is the only Jinjer song I’ve actually heard. Any recommendations for other songs by them?
