(Seriously though, Morrowind had, by far, the best fast-travel system of any Elder Scrolls game because it was realistically integrated into the worldbuilding.)

I’ve wandered a lot in that game, a constant state of where the hell am I? It does make it fun you end up exploring other places just by happenstance. Hitting up a random cave in modern games feels pointless, especially if the map is not littered with unique items.
