    There are two pressing issues that are making a huge impact currently: Data Centers, and Flock Cameras.

    We being flooded with videos of people at Council Meetings, featuring viciously angry constituents screaming about one or the other of these two issues.

    I’m in Florida, where the Midterm is going to choose a new governor and a new Senator, along with all the other normal offices. Those candidates are under extreme pressure to explain both those issues, which is tough when they actually support them heavily. But they know if they say that, even a Dark Red MAGA state like Florida will flip.

    On Data Centers, both MAGA endorsed Byron Donalds (gov) and Ashley Moody (sen), are running on controlling Data Centers, not eliminating them. They want them to pay their own way, as well as some lame deep fakes legislation. It’s all a lame attempt to avoid the truth that they are enormously pro-data center, and will be building them on any spare inch of land. They might be able to fool their idiot followers enough to buy their lame denials on the Data Centers.

    But the Flock cameras are already up, and being egregiously abused. Even MAGAs are angry about the undeniable surveillance state that they represent, and they are declaring their rage at every Council Meeting, all over the state.

    Florida MAGA leadership must have realized that if they continue to be on the wrong side of both Data Centers AND Flock Cameras, they would lose enough MAGA voters that they could lose everything. So they suddenly decided that ALL Flock Cameras in the state have to go, which shocked EVERYBODY. Nobody knew this was coming, which means they made this decision very quickly.

    Even the most rabid MAGAs support this (except law enforcement, who loved them, of course, they were the ones abusing them the most), which makes me wonder if there isn’t something I’m missing. I’m not used to agreeing with MAGA traitors like DeSantis or Sabatini.

    The fact is, is that they aren’t doing this because Flock cameras are wrong, they’re doing it because they can’t survive an election in which they have to defend both Data Centers AND Flock Cameras, along with the War, gas prices, housing prices, all the other Trump nonsense they have to pretend they agree with, as well as the crazy unique problems that MAGA has inflicted on our state.

    So they surrendered the Flock Camera War, hoping that would tamp down at least a little of the conflagration, which is threatening to consume the entire MAGA election.
