Dear every other nation in the world,

The future does not look so bright for the nation I am currently a part of. It is a nation that seems to be drawn to conflict a lot. Particularly in the present day, there is speculation that it might use nuclear weapons against one of its enemies. I do not consider government entities when I say this, but as citizens, it is generally understood or a part of our understanding that causing a conflict to go nuclear constitutes what people today might call the ultimate form of wartime escalation. If this is true, we know that it would imply that the entities responsible for the escalation see themselves as being of a culture which transcends cultural relativism. And, in turn, in the eyes of many, such an escalation will warrant a stigma to be projected onto the nation (the one that chose the nuclear path) by other nations, a stigma that would otherwise be considered something akin to relativism-ignorant racism, at least in a world where the action motivating the stigma did not imply a perception of transcendence above other cultures as a cultural value.

In light of all of this, know that I come from a part of the nation that risks going down the nuclear path. The part of the nation I am from is not a part of said nation based on its own accord. The part of the nation I’m from is able to say this because it has an extensive history of secessionism. So, to the other nations of the world, I ask the following. If my nation does escalate things to a nuclear level, I ask if those of you with the heart to stigmatize the nation may help my own part of the nation secede from the larger nation, for this path was never something we endorsed. If this cannot be done, please at least understand that the stigma you might otherwise project onto all of us (for being a part of a nation that chose to go down the nuclear path) would thus be a form of overgeneralization. One way or another, we do not wish to be a part of the mess that we fear the future will force upon us.
