    I enjoy being busy when I’m doing SHIT I LIKE, not just working a job I hate in order to make enough money to survive.

      Exactly! Work and deadlines are stressful, but having time for hobbies, gardening, cooking, reading, exercising etc. Now those are things I’d like to be doing.

    How come nobody asks me how technology will affect labor rights and economic outcomes? Oh right, because I’m not an expert in any of that. So why are we asking tech bros instead? Their answers are predictably dystopian and uninformed.

    The same people that say universal minimum income would lead to the collapse of society because without financial incentive no one would do anything.

    Just depends on which question they are trying to deflect from at the time.

    It’s because having a job gives some sense of purpose. Why do you think service animals and police dogs are a thing? Most animals are hunter gatherer, if you serve no purpose what good are you?
