Linked instances are the ones that are not blocked.

It’s slightly more complex than the above AFAIK…
It’s instances that the present instance actually knows about that it’s willing to communicate with. There might be other instances out there that the instance doesn’t know exist. The instance might also be set to communicate only with specific allowed instances, then that probably contains only those instances.
