Hi all, it’s Canvas time again! We all work together to place pixels and build an image.
Here is the template we have (decided in this post):

You log in with your Lemmy account by entering your instance (e.g. lemmy.nz) then your username (e.g. Dave). It sends a code to you via a message and then you enter it to prove it’s your account. No password necessary!
My plan is to start with the outline of the template to clearly define our spot, then to start filling in the rest.

I think we are done! It only took us 24 hours out of the 48 hour event!
Feel free to add stuff to the gaps around us. There is also a master template if you want to help others, reset your template to coordinates 0,0 and don’t have a size, then add this URL. It should match up with ours as well as have a bunch of other people’s templates:

@usernamesAreTricky@lemmy.ml Is there any chance that the kiwi laser could run over top of the QR code in lime/forest green, or would that mess with scanners too much?
By over top do you mean like going up and around the QR code or in the middle of it? If you mean up and around the QR code that’d probably be fine. If you mean like going through the middle of it, I’m not as sure all scanners would like it
I meant going through the middle of it, keeping the QR code pattern, but with dark green and light green instead of black and white. I tried it with my phone and it seemed to scan just fine.
Not all QR code scanners are equal on unusual conditions, so it’s not guarantee it’s true of all ways to scan unfortunately. The other concern is that it might make it not look scanable and invite more griefing and the like by making it look like the QR code is not maintained
If you did want to maybe go up and around, the colorful border we have could be replaced with green in the upper / lower half

A bit of a team effort! But having that new logo gave us a great starting point 🙂
Just a heads up, I think your template is misaligned by 2 pixels in the X-direction on the megatemplate:
Damn how? The exact same image is at the exact same coordinates…
Anyway, I adjusted the coordinates to be out by 2 on the master template so if you re-pull it the template should now match.
And we are go!
It says Pixel count 1/6, but I can only place one pixel before getting timeout?
Ah I see, it counts up, not down
Yip and you get one per 30 seconds, but they are having trouble with it showing the wrong countdown.

We’re doing great! We have until 4pm Monday. That gives us all day tomorrow and most of Monday if we take the day off work 😋

Time zones! We got a nice 4pm start while most of North America has been or are currently sleeping. I have no doubt it will come together.
