Double check the breaker didn’t flip. My neighbor got rinsed by a plumber who replaced his HW ($2900) only to find out it was the breaker, he subsequently got rinsed by the electrician ($350 breaker + $600 callout fee). He was too shy to negotiate which didn’t help.

Nooo! Hopefully you’ve got somewhere to go where you can have a hot shower. I’m not sure if it’s still running, but if you have gas appliance and will switch to electric there might be some government rebate? You’d have to investigate. But I hope it can get fixed quickly!

Got replacement batteries for the kids’ watches. I’ve been considering getting a watch repair kit off Aliexpress so cheap battery watches wouldn’t be such a hassle. I think I might get one now.
The last thing you want to do is bend your shim tool or use something like a screwdriver or razor blade and have it shoot out into your finger. Then be in that situation where you’re like, “It looks deep but it’s not bleeding, and it didn’t hurt too much.” Then the blood starts coming out and doesn’t stop.
