So I’m thinking about upgrading my bike, and the first thing that comes to mind is the battery. Let’s say I find/build a good battery case, grab an appropriately specced prismatic battery, wire it into the bms and secure it in the case. Attach it to the battery mount/plug and pop in a lock if it doesn’t already have one. Is it feasible to build my own ebike battery?
I want it waterproof so I worry I’d need to engineer some kind of cooling system. Aside from that and temperature expansion, am I missing something?
Cushioning would be ideal in the case to protect the cells from vibrations and repeated minor impacts.

However, their flat sides and corners, as well as their large size, can be more vulnerable to damage from impact or constant vibration if not properly secured.
Ooo, this is a good guide, thanks. I’ve worked with electricity enough to do the work, but not necessarily evaluate which websites are good
I’m only standing by the statement on the site itself. There are some studies on vibrations and such elsewhere. I cannot say much for their product.
It can be hard to tell. I wouldn’t buy a battle born battery right now though.
They have some bad recommendations and dangerous QC issues apparently.
