      That definition is not accurate in all parts of the world.

      I was shocked upon arrival in Colombia when they asked if I wanted my juice in water or in milk. Here, they throw the whole fruit in the blender and dilute the pulp with water or milk to make the right consistency of beverage.

        That just sounds like a smoothie. I guess jugo can mean either juice or smoothie. Even if they said it in English, it could be a translation thing.

        I’m pretty sure juice refers specifically to the liquid part, usually achieved by squeezing. There can be some pulp, but most of the solids are removed.
