It’s been over a year since my last rewatch, which for one this is nigh sacrilege so I gotta fix that, but also means I’m rusty.

But off the top of my head, I did not enjoy as much as Emancipation:

      • the O’Neill crystal doppelganger episode
      • the Teal’c stuck in video game episode. I do think it’s decent character development for Teal’c but as a gamer it makes me cringe so hard. And there’s better episodes for his development.
      • the Carter stuck on the ship alone and she hallucinates everyone episode, find it quite boring.
      • the broca divide episode.
      • last but not least off the top of my head, Hathor is by far the worst episode imho, introducing one of the dumbest bits of lore that they thankfully pretty much immediately disregarded.

Your list still checks out in my book.

Gotta say that personally I don’t necessarily dislike emancipation, was it underwhelming? Maybe.

But I do appreciate the story of someone that the society around them considers an underdog. Then reality sets in and they mop the floor with their opponent and hold a knife to their throat. And I appreciate that it is early enough(s1e3) in the series to show that Carter is not just the brains, but also a warrior.

Perhaps I’m imagining some sexism within our own 90’s society, I was quite young, I’m not a women, and back then girls had cooties. But that is what it established, that Carter is a warrior. At this point, we had not seen her fight hand-to-hand. If some say it is underwhelming, I won’t argue. But I think for it’s time, the episode served it’s purpose.

I am lost. Which episode is that referring to? I remember McKay on a ship alone and hallucinating Carter.

I looked it up because it’s been a while as I noted and couldn’t remember the episode name. It’s called Grace, season 7 episode 13

          Edited an autocorrect typo

            *Grace

I am watching this episode right now, and I barely remember bits and pieces. Like Carter chasing the kid. But for the most part, I do not remember watching this episode. I guess I can understand how if it is that forgettable of an episode for me, it should probably be ranked fairly low.

EDIT: And Carter’s discussion with the hallucination of her father about deserving love. But I likely remember that because it was used as a flashback scene multiple times in future episodes.

Well, while I can agree on some being weaker, I would still put Emmancipation at the very bottom.

But hey, it’s all subjective. I for one rather liked the Broca Divide episode.
