Vance’s admission contradicts what he said on Friday, when he claimed in an X post that Iran would not be “receiving any cash, and no funds are being released simply for signing a deal or attending a meeting.” In addition to the U.S. and its allies paying $300 billion in reconstruction funds, Iran reports that the U.S. has agreed to release $25 billion in frozen Iranian assets.

The US owes Iran - and the middle-east in general - a lot more than $300 billion.

And remember - this is essentially a bribe the US is paying in lieu to Iran demanding the end of sanctions… which, in my mind, is what Iran should be doing instead.

the “deal” also includes an end to the sanctions… you are never truly fucked until a senile child rapsit negotiates a deal for you

The more I see of it, the more I’m convinced it’s a “deal” Trump has zero intention of honouring.

Most likely it’s a dirty and cheap ploy to buy time to prepare for the next attack.

Yes, the US does owe the people of Iran but I dont know how to feel about the US giving this much money to a regime which has a long record of human rights violations

If Iran only uses that money to repair one hospital it will still be money well spent.

There’s no reason to lose any sleep over this - especially considering that the only reason Iran has this theocratic state to start off with is because of US meddling in the first place. Iran’s government - just like the Taliban in Afghanistan - is now virtually unassailable, once again, thanks to the US.

Iran’s people will now have to deal with this government that has been supercharged by the US and Israel - and we are not helping them by deciding for them what kind of government they should or should not have.
