I know I haven’t been commenting lately but I love that you’re keeping this community alive. Just wanted to pop out and say that.

When I was first dating the woman who is now my wife, I used to worry that I didn’t hold a conversation well enough - it’s one of the biggest issues previous partners had complained about. Eventually she told me that she enjoys silence, and appreciates that I’m not always trying to fill it. It was the first time I felt like someone loved me for me and not for who I was trying to be for them.

This poem perfectly describes my partner and I.

I love our long quiet drives. We try and only take backroads whenever we can, so it’ll be quiet and then someone will point out how nice the landscape is, and we’ll just quietly enjoy it.
