I learned my mother had Alzheimer’s yesterday. Going to be visiting her with my brother today.

But on positive side of things I managed to take a picture with all seven of our babies.

This post is for casual conversation if you don’t feel like making a post of your own.

It sucks and I’m sorry that you’re dealing with that. My grandparents had it and that was extremely rough. My wife, kids, and I live with my parents and my Mom has early signs (those were her parents I referenced) and my Dad, though he passes the doctor’s memory tests, seems to be having a type of dementia happening. His doctor sees the same troubling symptoms we do but doesn’t know what else to do short of a battery of neurological testing (which my Dad is bafflingly against). Hard seeing the changes from day-to-day.

    That’s rough

Alzheimer’s is a incredibly brutal disease that causes terrible suffering. While that may sound negative I think it is important for you to prepare yourself for what lies ahead. Watching members of my family get taken by the disease is some of the hardest experiences I’ve ever had to endure in my life.

One bit of advise: Be to be mindful of frustration and anger. Those emotions tend to surface in both loved ones and victims as the disease progresses due to the fact that they are a result of fear.
