This video of James Burke’s perfectly timed, live narration ending exactly at the moment of a satellite launch still gives me chills, even after seeing it so many times. It popped up again on Hacker News today, and it hasn’t lost it’s effect on me.

The show is worth watching. The ‘Connections’ in the title are the ways that separate events and discovers come together.
I remember the first time I saw this. I was amazed that they got the timing just right.
The sound of the rocket was at least added in post. It takes quite a while for the sound to travel that far.
