There is zero reasons for anyone to listen to to someone who acts, looks or sings great talking about their life or their opinions in politics.

I don’t even have any idea why in 2026 we still have interviews with celebrities and actresses.

I even see UN, human rights and general non-profits give actresses honorable positions and make them talk. And I gotta ask, did humanity lost it’s common sense or is logic ship sinking?

Top marks for a genuine unpopular opinion.

I’d go with Being an A List celebrity or sports figure by itself does not bestow expertise in other fields.

But that certainly doesn’t mean that celebrities are unable to to know things outside of their current occupation.

For example, you’d be stepping in it if you demand that Tom Morello shut up about politics.

Uhm, maybe you have the wrong celebrities as role-models? I’m pretty sure I’ve heard some interesting opinion pieces and side projects of some actors in some lengthy Podcasts. All the gossip and random people turned turfs are rubbish, though.

Edit: Idk, I’ve watched entore movies about Weird Al, or Freddie Mercury… Jane Fonda randomly says some good things and she’s 88yo…

See, i’m the opposite way. I think everyone should get involved and speak their minds…even if they’re not experts. Talking about important things should be encouraged…not censored.

…and why do you think that is?

It’s because actually talking about important issues is shat upon by the plebs (esp Gen Z…they’re buried so deep in their online echo chambers they’re essentially blind), so nobody is ever informed about anything important.

We all need to elevate our game and speak the fuck up, or that right will be taken away from us.

Famous people show us that talking about important issues is okay. Take that away, and we’re left in the Kardashian universe.

Freedom of speech is insanely important, especially if we don’t agree with what’s being said.

Agree or disagree. They should focus on what they can do good. Taking them outside their fields to talk is stupid.

Is it too much to ask that people educate themselves and stop listening to people that obviously have no idea what they’re talking about? We can’t stop people from spouting nonsense, we can only inoculate against it

This is a overwhelmingly left leaning platform, much like Reddit. You’re not gonna get many claps for shitting on these people’s idols and the industry they inhabit.
