Hope the elephants are okay

Good
Nature is so cool how it’s just able to self-correct like this.
Rest in piss, bozo
Finally some good news
Controversial take, but managed big game hunting tours are usually a net positive for local conservation efforts. The kinda of people who go for these tours tend to be one the douchier side, but responsibly managed hunting programs here in the US do a lot for conservation and I’m sure they’re better for other counties than just not having the money.
Ideally, the international community would support global resources like wildlife preserves without needing to tie it to killing things for sport but this is the next best thing.
Despite being a UNESCO world heritage site, they don’t have enough money to actually protect from ivory poaching. If a few managed hunting trips prevent many more poaching incidents I’m taking that as a win.

And nothing of value was lost. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Hunting is dangerous. These things happen quite often to people who do dangerous stuff “for fun”: hunters, mountain climbers, divers, etc.
