Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick was indicted last year on charges that she stole and laundered federal disaster money and used it to support a congressional campaign.

Good to know that one side still believes in accountability, or at least pretends to.

America loves the simplicity of rooting for one side but the reality is both Democrats and Republicans are fucking awful.

Resigning is great but, if she’s guilty she still needs to pay it back and go to jail

There’s been no trial. She is getting out because the House’s Republican majority is willing to expel her on the basis of an allegation, unlike the way they protect their own members in similar situations.

And based on the DOJ’s track record of dodgy prosecutions of people who oppose Trump, and the Republicans’ desperation to cling to their declining House majority by any menas, fair or foul, if it does go to trial, it’ll be a big surprise if they have an actual case.

While committing crimes is bad, I can’t help but feel like there are people in very high up positions who have committed far worse crimes….

But we take the high ground and demand everyone, including those “on our side” to be held accountable. Do the crime, do the time.

Absolutely. But America needs to put Rubio, Hegseth, Leavitt, Noem, Patel, Trump, Vought, and Miller into the guillotine ASAP. America is running out of time.
