We’ve waited a decade for this railway. Here’s what it will actually be like.
I received visions of a future me boarding on the wrong side of the platform and miserably traipsing my way to Meadowbank by mistake, instead of my intended destination of Spinoff HQ in Morningside.
Is this the dumbest complaint possible?
As an aside, 75 seconds is a long dwell time. Hopefully that comes down with time and experience.
75 seconds is utterly ridiculous and shows whoever is in charge has never left NZ. Most overseas places I’ve lived the dwell time is more like 10 seconds.
This footage is from years ago, but yeah.
NZ has a lot of people who are risk averse as a substitute for competence.
It’s not dictated by them right but rather by how long people take to get on and off?
This isn’t Auckland’s firat train, they should have an idea of the current dwell time, but I’m guessing 75 seconds is what they expect when they open up and everyone wants a ride. That will likely settle down a lot over time.
Keen to check it out to be honest. Looking forward to Missing the Newmarket detour and jumping off at aotea, though haven’t been a regular/rush hour user for a while.
