How come if they want to take long vacations at a time why don’t we get something going where the government shuts down for all of summer or winter? Or better yet have a teachers schedule?
I can’t speak to the airport lines, though reporting is that they are a mess? Maybe some worse than others idk.
As for the ‘vacation’…. It’s not a vacation for them and they don’t want it, other than Congress they seem to take large ‘vacations’ all the time. The rest of the government, ie the workers like TSA are not getting paid. So if they are working, they are doing it with no pay. This is not great for the individuals because we live in a society that requires money.
Why not have a teachers schedule? Can you imagine? No mail, for instance, for months at a time? That would be wildly frustrating. Some bits of government we could do without. TSA is an example, but other bits we kind of need. Social security? So people who rely on it for survival just, don’t get anything for the summer? Would be a disaster.
