qqluqq, one of the main KeeperFX developers, is working on controller support and ARM compilation. It’s crazy how far we’ve come.
im currently working on native android port which works with legacy rendering system and with modified OpenGL renderer. it supports modern stuff like normal maps, shaders, injection of 3d models to replace sprites etc. camera movement controlled by virtual joystick, zoom and rotation by native android gestures. one click installation from .apk file. im also on the Keeper Klan discord channel so you can find us all there 😈
Still disappointed in the newest Dungeon Keeper being mobile trash. I love the original 2, but I have played them since launch. I would love a new one that doesn’t suck. 😮💨
War for the Overworld or Lords of Nether (still in development) might be worth looking into.
Besides those, KeeperFX makes DK1 feel modern and adds a lot of new cool possibilities that makes it a whole new experience.
Ohh, could I run it on a pinephone?
The developer I wrote about is working on ARM compilation yeah. It’s all getting really close. Be sure to follow the project, or maybe join the Keeper Klan discord.
Ooh, didn’t know there was an open source engine for dungeon keeper. Anyone have experience if it runs on wine/proton? I’ll give it a shot later either way :D
It runs perfectly on Wine, but native Linux is like 95% done.
