I’m not who you were replying to, but I agree and disagree with your comment.
I’m not saying someone can’t be happy single. But society makes it hard to be when the world revolves around relationships, being a virgin is used as an insult, etc.
But I do agree with you that not everyone needs to have a partner. I don’t see myself ever getting into a relationship, and to some extent I’m often close to making peace with that, until I see a post, a comment, a video, etc, that makes me feel inferior due to it.
I do appreciate, though, the fact that you admit not everyone needs to have a relationship and that not everyone will have one. I’ll take this approach every day of the week over the “Naaah, I’m sure you will be in a relationship soon cause everyone does!”, followed by moving the goalpost (it’s always “soon” regardless of how many years have passed).
Oh, for sure. I wouldn’t want that. To be fair, I just want to not be looked at weird for never having been in a relationship more than I want a relationship at this point.
That’s not to say that I would want a horrible relationship just so I can say “I was in a relationship”. But oddly enough some people would view me better if that happened, because it means I was able to attract someone.

I mean, you can always have a shitty relationship with whoever, one that’s not really love at all.
That defeats the point, doesn’t it?
