During a press conference Sept. 15, Tuggle said he had been in contact with the Mississippi Department of Corrections to remove all state prisoners from the jail to create additional space in the corrections facility. The measure is meant to be preventative, in the event any crime that would have been committed in Shelby County spills over to DeSoto County because of the National Guard’s deployment.

Sorry for all the reposts of the same story on this community. That happens when my VPN gets interrupted for some reason.

Anyway, about clearing space in the MS jail just outside of Memphis as a “preventative…”

It just occurred to me that an odd National Guard emergency preparedness/natural disaster drill took place in this area on the TN-MS border just outside of Memphis back in May.

Mississippi National Guard readies for disaster response drill

“Vigilant Guard 2025,” will take place May 12-18. It will give participants the opportunity to activate and employ their response plans to improve mission command, relationships, and interoperability among federal, state, and local agencies.

Guardsmen from Mississippi, along with those from Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming, the ability to command a statewide response to a major disaster in coordination with the Mississippi and Tennessee Emergency Management Agencies

This year’s exercise scenario is based on a 7.5 magnitude earthquake occurring along the Mississippi River, affecting areas in north Mississippi.

Due to the planned exercise, the public may notice a higher military presence in some areas throughout northern Mississippi. The Mississippi National Guard UH-72 Lakota’s will perform aerial surveys over the exercise sites to perform damage assessments and route reconnaissance as part of the overall exercise.

I mentioned it here Blue cities in Red states being used to test authoritarian take over because it just seemed really odd that states like Utah and Wyoming would be joining states like Georgia, MS, and TN in their emergency preparedness drill given how different everything would be during a natural disaster.

Yesterday, Marjorie Taylor Green of Georgia called for a “National Divorce” and for some reason the only Republican governors that made a point to denounce her or respond at all were the governors of Wyoming and Utah.

Then today, as Trump is sending in the national guard to Memphis, the MS sheriff in the area where this drill took place, announces he’s clearing the jail for national guard in Memphis. Just as a “precaution.”

    So that’s weird, right? No?

    Just a totally normal coincidence?

I’m really curious what the MAGAts definition of a national divorce is. I would be in total favor of ridding myself of a nation full of red states that drag down the rest of the country. However, if they favor it as well, then I can’t expect that it would be anything less than sinister.
