    Other than Cuba, I can’t think of another country I feel is unjustly facing sanctions. Am I missing one?

      It happens constantly, it’s just not really publicized or on the public radar because it is boring. But it is hugely impactful. Post-Iraq-War-1 sanctions killed in total somewhere in the neighborhood of a million people, most of them children.

      Someone asked Madeline Albright about it and she basically said, yeah shit happens, that’s the price they have to pay for not doing what we told them. Finding out about that was actually the big watershed moment in my young life where for the first time I realized that the US is pretty fuckin’ far from the good guys a lot of the time.
