Texas Republican Chip Roy criticizes his party leadership over its decision to pass a two-tiered Continuing Resolution to fund the government and avert a shutdown as a suspension bill. "I didn't come here to have the Speaker of the House assume the position and in 17 days pass a continuing resolution off the floor of this House through suspension of the rules," Roy says. He also criticizes his party for not sticking to their promises to cut spending and warns that they better do so when the House returns after the Thanksgiving holiday. The stop-gap measure leaves government funding at 2023 spending levels.
