Partner officially diagnosed with ADHD, and a treatment plan now in place. I’m so proud of him!

We got back to Brunswick, had a couple of Doppel Ename from Mokum, and then got some beer from Blackhearts and Sparrows. It’s been a lovely birthday.

Thank you all so much for your birthday wishes and good vibes!! I don’t know where I would be without you all! 💜💜💜

Edit: thank you for the birthday wishes! Sending you all good vibes! 💜💜💜

I’ve been falling asleep to hour+ long videos on space, by Astrum Extra, so I don’t know why I had a nightmare about

    tw blood

Living alone and finding blood everywhere in my house, running to the neighbours for help, then waking up to find blood everywhere in my house, running to the neighbours for help, then waking up to find blood everywhere in my house, then running to the neighbours for help… And so on. It was a good 15-20 loops before I woke up at 3am.

The cat came and cuddled me so I fell back asleep and was fine. I’m not upset, just tripped out lol.

Second ADHD assessment appointment for my partner today, so another trip across the city. Gonna treat myself with a cafe coffee, because it’s my birthday 😂

My beautiful friend came over yesterday, and made a delicious soup, healing for the mind, body, and soul. I feel so happy to have spent the day with them. They got to meet Mickey, we took a walk, it was great! They gave me their guitar, so I’ve been practicing last night - gonna practice more this afternoon when I return. I do wish I had slightly longer, thinner fingers so I stop flattening the other strings when practicing chords, but I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it with practice.

It took me nearly a month after getting my psych to fill out uni support forms (which she did within 24 hours of asking) to actually submit them to the uni out of paralysis/shame/anxiety/whatever - I did it this morning and then got a response from the subject coordinator eerily quickly… was out doing fieldwork and told myself I wouldn’t read it till I got home because I was fully expecting a “no”.

Turns out I got 10 days extension no questions asked. Fucking A. Sat with so much anxiety and avoidance for nothing.

Gonna celebrate by treating myself to an afternoon and evening of yet more PHM. Good good good. Thank!

Thanks for the birthday wishes yesterday everyone. It feels like I got a bigger response here from people I haven’t met in person compared to what I ever got from people I know on Facebook

I have just submitted my first rental application, which was slightly terrifying. It is a lot more involved than the last time I was looking for a private rental (over 20 years ago!)

Hopefully they haven’t just rented it to someone else, the landlord falls in love with Mr Woof and Miss Meow when they see the pictures, the property will be just as I imagine it in real life and I won’t have to look at any others. Unlikely, but I can hope!

Only 2 3 wake ups so far. Not bad.

That reminds me. There’s several Simon’s at work. I’m very unaccustomed to having the same name as other people.

Ive only ever met 1 other person with my real name.

Feels odd to call someone else by my name.

Aaaand Trump goes back on the tariffs, and nobody is surprised because the country is run by toddlers basically. Stock markets are back up. Wonder which of his friends made a pretty penny by buying during the low and selling for an overnight 5-9% profit

It’s exhausting to be honest, it’s generating so much news and tension over several industries leaving them with a bleak future ahead.

Been seeing talk of insider trading. Think that’s got any truth to it?

I’m surprised they even happened. I thought they’d be the sorry of things he talks about forever and never actually does. But I guess this is like the Muslim ban; do it, revoke it, blame other people, and talk about it without ever implementing it again

Almost feels like he did it purely to be able to boast to the American public that he (allegedly) had world leaders kissing his ass at a recent dinner due to these tariffs.

In other words - it’s all just a fucking show leading up to an ever more disgusting version of politics from which there feels like there is no going back…

I’m waiting for the announcement of 1 millionth percent tariff on China, and for MAGA voters to keep insisting Trump knows exactly what he’s doing and America is now great again. I want to laugh, but am so sad for the Americans who didn’t want this. Another day in the American clown show.

there was a notice on my payment page from aliexpress about tariffs.

Chinese people expect many Americans to direct their anger at them and they are right, they just don’t understand that trump lied and lied and lied

Just saw first comedy show if the season. So so good. Saw: He Huang (absolute best of the night), Nazeem Hussein, Dave Hughes, and an Australian/African girl who’s name I sadly forgot who was second best for me - has her own show and is going to be on taskmaster this season. It was a work social club thing and I almost bailed but I’m so glad it didn’t. Buzzing 😊

They are so cute. It’s so nice to have wildlife around! Is it possible he lost part of his tail? The ones I’ve seen have a tail that narrow to a thinner point. Unless this is a different species. It’s amazing how tiny some of them are.

i do think this gecko has lost a bit of his tail, it’s too stubby , a lot of predatory birds around here so that’s probably how he lost it

it was such a lovely surprise to see them both 🙂

Love these little dudes even though it’s a bit less nice when they’re inside the house and leave their poo around (but still so helpful otherwise)

I have van. Now I’m waiting for an assessment of whether the reversing camera can be installed without a new head unit 🤞

It is nice sitting up high and being able to see further, but it will take a while to get used to primarily using the side mirrors. I have so far managed to avoid turning on the windscreen wipers instead of the blinkers.

Edit: this is taking much longer than anticipated.

2nd Edit: I will need a new head unit. The good news is they can do it tomorrow, so will be able to back more confidently very soon. I did manage to back into my carport without too much trouble when I got home, although the sensors’ beeping adds a new feeling of drama to the process.

if your existing headunit doesnt have carplay/android auto just replace the headunit anyway. its a game changer!

Seconding getting the head unit upgraded to one that has carplay/android auto (if it doesn’t already) - it makes SO much difference. Got it done on my car and while it was a strain on the wallet in one hit, it has paid off in scads from all the times it has made navigation etc so much better (and safer) than a mounted phone.

It will be having android auto - it has some connection already, but it might just be to play music. I have a TomTom gps unit that I actually really like for navigation, both because it keeps the maps downloaded and doesn’t need internet connection and because the dashboard or windscreen mount position is better to look at than in the centre console.
