White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Tuesday that President Donald Trump is exploring legal pathways to “deport” U.S. citizens to El Salvador, where the administration has already arranged to house deported immigrants in a prison known for its human rights abuses.
Because once outside the US, the Republican position is that they no longer have recourse to the courts. So you can hustle somebody to El Salvador really fast, and then there is nothing they can do about it.
Whereas if you put people through the usual trial process and keep them in a US prison, they can later be freed as innocent.
So basically, point at person you don’t like (like minorities) and say “You did a crime! To El Salvador with you!” and they’re gone forever regardless of innocence. Great times.

The removal of due process will result in this happening, whether by Trump or another president down the line. It is a wildly dangerous precident to set and significantly erodes the rights of everyone in this country.

I think you may be missing the point

Actually no. The worst of the worst stay in the US. The people they are deporting to El Salvador are mostly non-criminals or petty criminals. The actual violent criminals (the ones that are harder to control) do not make for good slaves and are kept in whatever prison they are already in.
