I feel that the second Red Bull seat is more of the meat-grindy experience. Racing Bulls is the chef who takes the ground meat and forms it into an F1 driver-shaped patty. Like a Red Bull McNugget of a driver.

They put him into the meat grinder when they put him into the red bull seat. He was nowhere near ready for that experience wise.

I think that’s what the comment means. But still I think it’s not only on them. Liam publicly and very very probably internally massively lobbied for him getting that seat rather earlier than later. I mean, sure, no one would say “no please let me learn first”, but it’s IMO not 100% on RBR.

I feel every driver (especially a young driver with a history of success) will massively rate themselves and do everything they can to get the best drive possible (and it’s that kind of drive that got them there in the first place). It’s the older, more experienced team’s job to actually develop the young drivers and promote them when they’re ready.

I guess Red Bull have struck gold twice with Vettel and Verstappen and so they’re willing to burn through young drivers as fast as possible to find the next prodigy.
