In response to a question in a field in which I have little expertise, I shall respond with “I’m not a botanist.” When multiple small things go wrong in quick succession, I may quip “Mondays, right?” only if the day is not Monday.

He died in his 90s of natural causes but was a really interesting fella. Homosexual, Jewish, Holocaust survivor, antiquities dealer.
