Well, quite ambitioned for a one-man-show, also the chosen linux distro as base can be disputed.
The mark to be appealing to “typical public sector organisation[s]” is quite high, but in regards to the team (one man?) I’m remembered of elmenteryOS and how the two founders managed before splitting ways. They pulled it off for a while.
I think they missed a trick by not calling it EUNIX for those old origin story coming full circle vibes
did not see an European union operating system coming lol
…I suppose it does make sense because of Microsoft thoughDouze points for idea, but it definitely would need to be a team effort
Why not suse/opensuse? If you’re looking for an European enterprise OS to replace american Windows/MacOS/RHEL, you can’t do much better than suse.
I worked with SuSE. Never.again.
I’m as surprised as you it’s not net another Bunt kludge, but please, let’s avoid the people who killed conectiva and united and open and likely other distros through bad cooperation.
The goal of the project is to provide a free OSS OS, and probably predates the buy European movement.
Should RHEL be included here? American yes but are they capitalist cunts worshipping fascism?
Ayo? 2025 year of the Linux desktop? All it took was orange man getting too big for his britches
This is a good idea, but a proper EU OS should probably be based on NixOS to make deployments brain-dead easy with perfect reproducibility.
And it should be hosted on Codeberg, not Gitlab.
I see Fedora KDE spin, I upvote
