My headcanon is that after he accidentally got knocked up, he just sorta figured there was nothing he could do to avoid accidentally having sex, so what’s the harm in doing it intentionally? At least that way it’s easier to recognise all aspects as consensual.
Was a bit disheartening to see that people in the supposedly progressive and enlightened 22nd century openly either blamed or mocked Trip for being, essentially, raped.
Something tells me that it wouldn’t be presented as humourous if it were T’Pol or Hoshi that was unknowingly coerced into sex and ended up being impregnated.
