I’ve searched and seen lots of posts that have further confused me, so I could use someone to sanity check.
Current Situation:
- All *arr’s on a Synology locally; Usenet only
- Will be moving to a place with poor uplink and will not be able to stream from my Synology remotely anymore, so I signed up for Ultra.
- Wanting to use Ultra to DL and stream; copy files to Synology automatically as backups/archive
- Will manually purge Ultra, or copy from Synology to Ultra old shows that I want to re-stream. Not worried about uplink as I can trickle over weeks - don’t need anything urgently
Challenge:
- Sonarr and Radarr are still on Synology because of the library management. Presumably I need to set hardlinks for it to see remote storage? Is RClone the recommended method here? I haven’t used it before and presume I need to mount the seedbox as SSH/SFTP to the Synology?
- Synology has rsync natively, which seems easy to configure to copy the files, but duplicative to RClone and doesn’t solve for the library management of *arrs.
Has anyone any recommendations? Do I need MergeFS? Do I need VPS with RClone?
I’ve become confused over the RClone configs & help docs as most are mounting cloud storage (e.g. GDrive) to a seedbox.
