Summary

Ukraine’s 13th National Guard Brigade conducted its first all-robot assault, using ground and aerial drones to clear Russian positions in Kharkiv Oblast.

The operation involved surveillance, explosive, and gun-armed robots, demonstrating Ukraine’s advanced military robotics.

While robots excel in surveillance and attack, their limitations in holding ground, particularly against jamming and maintenance challenges, underscore the continued importance of human infantry.

I don’t see how they’re able to turn “Ukraine successfully conducted a combined arms assault without exposing any of their troops to enemy fire” to “Ukraine has massive manpower shortages”.

Like yes: Ukraine is outnumbered. That doesn’t change the fact that if you can conduct successful assaults without exposing your troops, that is infinitely preferable to exposing your troops in dangerous ground assaults. Ukraine may be outnumbered at present, but even if they weren’t, they would be choosing to conduct unmanned assaults when they can, because they care about preserving their soldiers lives.

Well, the presumption is they’re better than us at everything (or will be soon if they aren’t already). Makes sense they’ll become the new upper class since they contribute so much more to society than the average prole. Yay for the 1-3 people that will absolutely thrive and become multi-trillionaires or whatever for owning the company that pulls it off best first

Better at wasting a countries resources dying alone in a field in a foreign country?

That’s absolutely a job that a robot can and should do better than a human, and I won’t be sad about that job getting replaced.

I just think about the robots that they’ll use to control the populous. They’re proving themselves exceptional at war, i get nervous that they’ll become the catch-all solution for domestic issues as well. I guess at the end of the day, I’m just afraid of the danger they present ‘in the wrong hands’ (though i can’t just assume they’re always in the right ones today, so 🤷‍♂️)

Can’t stop technology though, so I’ll just buckle up and prepare for the ride as best i can
