Because then there are specialized free-range-egg-minutes that are slightly non-compatible with egg-minutes! If you try to use an egg-timer to time anything else, you risk serious injury and possibly death. (Just in case it’s not obvious, this is just made up bullshit!)

Nah! An egg-minute is a different time flow than an ISO minute (not to be confused with imperial minutes).
