Democrats are looking on nervously as their last-ditch goal of recapturing the House in an otherwise brutal election shows signs of fizzling.

Not being vindictive at all, but I hope this hurts, like a lot. If this is a repeat of his first term he’ll grift, stumble over everything important, and have a by-and-large uneventful term (pandemic aside). That’s enough for the uninformed masses to say, “Hey, this ‘fascism’ thing ain’t so bad,” and they did their hooks in even deeper.
I don’t think he’ll stumble over anything - if he gets a trifecta, he’ll sign whatever the fuck is put in front of him, and this time he won’t have establishment Republicans to keep him from completely going off the rails. Instead he’ll have Elon in charge of budgeting, RFK Jr doing “medical” stuff, and Bannon pushing fucking insane shit.
The guard rails are down and we’re flying off the cliff.

They seriously need to course correct their policy decisions. Capitulation to Israel and corporate interests, playing kingmaker with their presidential candidates, and pandering to conservatives are gutting their support.
Way too late for that. Trump and co are easily on track to gut every single ounce of functional democracy and ensure that nobody left of Joe Manchin is ever elected again.
They needed to course correct 8 years ago. They may never get another chance now.
