No, they didn’t even had any proof for the Korean ammo being used so they decided to escalate it to Korean soldiers, with even less proof. One could think with all those alleged Russian human wave attacks Ukraine would be able to present plenty of proof for DPRK soldiers participating but alas, they can’t even present any proof of the human wave attacks itself despite 2,5 year of war.

It started out as a Zelensky claim. A few days ago, a video has been circulating claiming to show North Koreans getting Russian umiforms and then training with Russian weapons. On Monday, a hill was captured by Russian forces near Kupyansk, and the customary flag video showed a Russian flag next to a DPRK flag waving.

We don’t know if these videos are real or not, as they didn’t come from official sources. It could be Ukrainians staging them to create some sort of provocation for US/NATO to deploy troops, or it could be Russians trolling Ukrainians.

If there’s a dose of truth to it, Russia would probably only use N. Korean troops to liberate Kursk, as that would be in line with international law (inviting a foreign military to defend or liberate its own territory).

If DPRK troops are deployed in Ukrainian territory, it would be a breach of international law, and will probably be used as an excuse by the West to deploy troops as well. I don’t think this move would be in-character for the Russians. They’ve been very careful so far to keep the war as legal as they can.
