Targeted Victory’s largest client is the Republican National Committee. It’s now fielding inquiries for X about Elon Musk’s standoff with Brazil.
X appears to be working with a well-known Republican consulting group, seemingly to handle the messaging around the social media platform’s suspension in Brazil.
When WIRED emailed X for comment about the rapidly evolving situation in Brazil, a reply came from Michael Abboud, the managing director of the conservative consulting and public relations firm Targeted Victory. According to his LinkedIn, Abboud worked for the State Department in the last year of the Trump administration and as press secretary for former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s campaign.
America should follow suite and block X.
Let’s be done with this fucking charade.
That’d be nice, but wouldn’t make it past congress.
Maybe not this one. But maybe a 2025 congress could if everyone shows up to vote.
twitter/X has been collaborating with the US government for a decade, i doubt they are going to block it
Maybe they can seize it as part of the investigation into the larger Russian influence campaigns
That’s weird. Elon Musk seems so protective of free speech and is so receptive to… different… I’m sorry, I can’t, I just can’t. This clown is just another out-of-touch billionaire who supports the party that will enable him to further plunder the American People… Vote like your country is at stake, people; it literally is…
Lol hey at least you tried and that’s what counts.
Hear me out: everyone goes on X, claims to be GOP, then starts commenting on articles from progressive positions like “it makes sense tho” and eventually shifts the overton window back left via the algorithm.
Infusing users back into Twitter? Nah
It’s a nice thought, but somehow it never works.
Was it tried?
So now that we basically have social media Fox News, who is going to create social media MSNBC?
Considering MSNBC is just Fox with a calm smarmy demeanor, probably a GOP consulting firm.
