Why did nights of naberus return without the exodia arcanes and more importantly the PLAGUE ZAWS which can't be obtained anywhere else ? i've waited a year to get those zaw parts ...
Nuking the drone on its way to the boil with the Elytron’s 4 was a perfectly valid strategy for speeding up the missions, and a fix for Nova teleporting the drone inside the boil (from what I remember this only happened if the Nova teleporting the Drone was Host).
Some random tips for the bounty:
Nova/Loki work for quickly transporting the Drone, DE changed the Drone’s AI to try to path into Nova’s portals but occasionally it bugs and will try to backtrack to the spot it entered the portal.
Volt/Wisp can speed up the drone, sometimes wisp motes are hit-or-miss buffing NPCs in open world missions.
Elytron’s 4 can be used to move the drone, get it unstuck, and push the boss out of the Boil. Can occasionally get the Boss stuck inside the Boil though.
Avoid weapons modded for Cold (if the boss is not status immune), Slow Nova, Gloom in the boss phase.
Do not destroy the infested spawn pods.
Armor Strip helps a lot although there’s been a lot of power creep since the last plague star so this may not be relevant anymore.
Weapons with high pellet counts tend to do better against the boss.

The drone backtracking is an issue where the drone is too high up from the ground.
If the drone is teleported close enough to the ground, it won’t backtrack.
Caliban’s persistant armor strip area from his 4 might be very useful in this.
