What? That goes against my ~10 years of living in Germany. They hate anything not traditional, and their traditional food is absolutely fucking disgusting.
Maybe you’re confused because of the many immigrant-held places? I’ve never had a good döner from a place managed by a white German, but good kebab places in Germany are infinitely better than fast food in France
The fact that kebab places are so prevalent in Germany shows the average German is quite open to foreign foods. Even “traditional” German foods get spins from foreign foods, like curry wurst. I’ve also seen quite a few inspired takes on flammekueche using foreign inspirations.
