Tampere@sopuli.xyz•Lähes 50 vuotta Pyynikin näkötornilla olleet radioamatöörit joutuvat muuttamaan – Uusi koti löytyi josuomi
2·27 天前Ehdinpäs juuri ja juuri käydä radioamatöörikurssin näkötornilla, muuttolaatikoiden keskellä tammikuussa.
Here’s a scooter enjoyer often found wearing downhill skiing pants (warm, windproof) for quick rides. Dainese leather gear if it’s a more involved undertaking.
Nice catch, a flying mouser!
Thanks, but just one will do nicely.
Nyt kun lueskelin tarkemmin, mistä kyse, niin tässähän voisi rohkeasti käyttää yhdyssanojen voimaa: koostesyöte tai koontisyöte?
Pallo on tietty Piefedin fi-lokalisoijalla, jonka pitäisi tuonne ensin makustella, tuleeko feedistä syötettä ensinkään. Tai päätyykö homma kääntäjäbotille, joka tuumaa että feed -> rehu 😅
Fiidistä menee ainakin ‘syöte’ :)

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•what should be the amount of work hours per week? is there a threshold where it starts to affect your life?
1·5 个月前I joined my present employer to do a project and got to set my preferred hours, which I set at 4 days of 6 hours per week. That was lovely! They later took me on full time, whereupon I started working 5 days but was able to keep the 6 hour workday and that has been the norm since. Pretty much ideal IMO.
CDs I bought, the massive trove of albums I’ve ripped from friends and library CDs since around 1997 and everything dl’d from Spotify and more recently Tidal (switched not only because ethics and quality - mostly because spotify-dl started breaking up :o) now lives on my home server, backs up once a week and is available to grooving to via Jellyfin over the Net. So much debt of gratitude to Jellyfin for enabling this.
At home I’ll plug the phone into a USB Toslink box and play lossless over the speakers; in the car over Bluetooth into car stereo (which has seen a little bespoke work). Headphones I haven’t bought into, I’d rather be in the moment with all senses when out and about. Same goes for motorcycle riding, music is too much of a distraction.
New music comes along by following Pitchfork’s album reviews. They are pushed out to RSS so that I browse them over morning coffee.
There is no such thing as a favourite band when one really listens to music. I get kicks from still discovering new stuff at a ripe age. One newish band that blew my mind is black midi.

Motorcycles@lemmy.world•Long-haired riders, how do you handle the mane when riding?
2·5 个月前One thing that works is a regular ponytail with just the very end doubled up and tightly tied with elastic.

From Europe or about Europe@sopuli.xyz•Digital House Arrest – How the EU Wants to Disempower Families
2·5 个月前Serious stuff - but any progress toward dystopia will only sell free as in freedom, non-complying alternatives to the masses as viable alternatives. Looks like kids will be using and building meshnets soon :D
You can look at the spectrum with a SDR and see where, and on what bandwidth, local meshheads are chirping. Reticulum is not (yet!) widely used, so it’s most likely going to be Meshtastic traffic.
Finland has seen some organisation in the mesh spheres, we’ve settled on 869.4313 MHz with 62 kHz bandwidth to dodge constant radio pollution from smart electricity meters.

Meshtastic@mander.xyz•If the little red cap isn't meant to go on top of the antenna, then why does it fit perfectly? Answer that!
22·5 个月前It is the weather sensor.
- cap wet: raining
- cap melting: hot day
- cap brittle: cold day
- cap bright: sunny
- cap dark: night
- cap gone: windy
- antenna gone: hurricane

Homebrewing - Beer, Mead, Wine, Cider@sopuli.xyz•Feeling brave: made a blueberry stoutEnglish
2·5 个月前21 L in total… so probably not a great deal of blueberriness is to be expected after looking at your numbers :D I was going for a nuance, but might not get even as much.
Years ago in heady engineering student days we made blueberry wine (while stationed at a nuclear power plant revision, naughty!) and the taste still lingers, in a good way. Maybe I’ll try your numbers later :)
Self-hosted, federated Matrix instance with wife, kids and even my old folks on it, yay! Even have video conferencing self-hosted on there. Telegram presence via mautrix-telegram bridge also there. Nheko on desktop and Element X on mobile. Fearing every Postgres update as it’s an Arch server, other than that life’s peachy.
Still on IRC (Libera) for shits and giggles with weechat.

One perennial favourite is an improvised Palak paneer with cauliflower and cottage cheese. Wholly unpractical on the other hand (500 g fresh spinach per person) but handy otherwise (needs a long time on low heat, perfect for Trangia).
Spinach down as fine as you can get it. Oil, butter, garlic, chili in deep pan with lid. Get hot, add spinach, simmer until smooth. Add curry, mix, add rest, enjoy.
