2·25 days agoMaybe you don’t, idk. Installing a new system on a drive the current system is running from seems weird, but maybe the live iso is loaded to ram first. Either try it or search the internet.

9·25 days agostart the distribution instalator and select your usb stick as the installation drive. you might have to boot it live from a second usb stick to install on the first - i’m not sure.
or use live usb persistance as i said in my other comment.

51·25 days agothe feature you’re looking for is called “persistance”. i’ve never tried it, but i know a tool called Ventoy can be configured for it. (i use ventoy but not with persistance)
