See if you can reduce your blue light exposure in the evening to help with sleeping. “Night Light” setting on phone. Warm LED bulbs in the living area. It sounds dumb but your body should be producing its own melatonin on a schedule.

As far as I can tell, the supplements are holistic and unproven. Spend that money instead on things that make your sleeping area relaxing. I like a good buckwheat pillow and how it keeps my head cool. Little improvements are charms to keep anxiety and bad thoughts away from my home.

Razer sucks. I had someone with a similar problem 20 years ago. Their whole PC would not boot if the mouse was plugged in. Never found a solution other than to unplug the Razer mouse and plug in after boot. In their case, OS doesn’t matter because it was happening during POST (power-on self-test).

There may be a firmware update on the mouse or possibly USB-related setting in BIOS that can mitigate.

My wife’s throat will swell shut from mango. I don’t think poison ivy affects her more than usual but we have to be very careful around anything generically “tropical” flavor.

I suffered from “severe depression”, always felt like that was an incomplete diagnosis, and worked retail in my youth and it nearly drove me insane. It’s not that the job was difficult, it was just stressful seeing so many random people in the rough.

After that, I worked several different restaurant jobs. Those can be stressful but in a way that you don’t have time to think or worry about anything except getting these people satisfied with flavors and textures. Deliveries can be fun, if you are a good driver. Gave my brain that won’t shut up a job - it just has to be on high alert for the other maniacs driving, and bob along to techno music. 😆

Eventually found a job as a skilled tradesman dealing with computers and electronics, which was my personal side-study all along. Never got far in education after graduating high school but now have a proper career that is not the same motions every damn day.

I took Tai Chi and found out how to get my mind listening to my body and brain. I have zero spirituality, but this type of active meditation helped me!

Modern mainstream computing, surely! I moved my household to Linux years ago so I may be a bit out-of-the-loop. Everybody can still do what they are trying to do, and more. It’s brought back some of the feelings of wonder and fun about computers that I missed from the 80s.

I only buy cheap Androids with Snapdragon and degoogle. Yeah, Android is also starting to suck but at least you are currently allowed to take out the trash.

I learned today that connecting a child’s Google account to a device completely neuters the ability to install or manage apps from anywhere other than Google Play. As in: I, the parent, can’t even temporarily allow F-Droid to be able to install an app. Fuck Google, too.

I had to use an iPhone for work the other day. The up arrow to send a text message was present but not responding.

Oh, the autocorrect has highlighted a word it thinks I misspelled, and I’m guessing we can’t send because a word is highlighted?! OK, tap elsewhere on the message to cancel highlight; it still won’t send, WTF? Tap AGAIN elsewhere on the message, and now it can send.

Lots of reaching up to the top of the screen for no reason, too. Why are there controls up there when my thumbs are already at the bottom for the keyboard? I have to reconfigure my grip on the expensive device I don’t want to drop, just for basic user interactions.

iPhone always leaves me wondering who approved the software working like this, have they ever used a computer before; and how is Android going to degrade in an attempt to copy this behavior?
