The above passage, for example, comes from Game Feel, a game design guide written by Steve Swink.
Steve Swink (and his editors) needs to be forced fed a copy of his book.
Being able to design games doesn’t mean one can write about designing games.

Or just get a bunch of your fellow evangelicals together, isolate your mark from their actual friends and gas light them for a few years, you’ll break them easily enough.

What does “voting ‘present’” mean?
I’m guessing it is a bit like abstaining but with some sort of special meaning in the house?

Shocked Pikachu.
If you think a game played by billionaires* is that important… then pony up the ticket price and watch the advertisements on the fields like a good compliant consumer.
* the owners of the teams are the ones playing the real game, the ball kicking is just to distract you while they empty your wallet.
Like persephone playing a saxophone.

Louder, for those in the south.
The main character from idiocracy.

IT’S ALL GOD’S PLAN
GOD MADE US THIS WAY AND GOD DOESN’T MAKE MISTAKES
even better if you can find verses to support you and throw them back at them.

Now do 5-eyes too.

There is a study that showed empirically that reducing the media coverage (and strictly avoiding coverage of methods and some other aspects) of suicides reduced the rates of suicide in the affected populations.
So there’s science behind the avoidance.
IMHO the media do seem fairly clumsy going about it though.
I have an 18yo dog. She’s very near the end of her life. Deaf, hair falling out, slowly losing motor control and strength, and can’t climb stairs anymore. She’s still happy, and doesn’t appear to be suffering even though she does require a bit of extra care now.
I can’t bring my self to euthanize her, because she can’t make the decision unlike a human could.
I hope that one day we wake up and she’s died peacefully in her sleep.
Pretend it’s corn and shit post it, I guess.
It’s better than click baity it’s technically correct (the best kind of correct).
The experiment has ended! Rust in the kernel isn’t experimental anymore!

For those like me who didn’t quite get it:
The movie that plays at the Mannheim psychiatric hospital begins with The A-Team (1983) theme music, and its credits contain names that relate to the original team’s careers: The first name credited is “Reginald Barclay”. Dwight Schultz, who was the original Murdock, played a character named Reginald Barclay in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987). The next credit reads “Thomas Banacek”. George Peppard, who was the original Hannibal, played investigator Thomas Banacek in Banacek (1972). The third and final credit reads “G.F. Starbuck”. Dirk Benedict, who was the original Face, played Lieutenant Starbuck in Battlestar Galactica (1978).

Of course I’ll press it.
I’m not going to cut my nose off to spite my face.
As reluctant as I am to use the word “innovation” I think it’s that rather than optimization.
Those companies started off as plucky underdogs, doing whatever they do slightly better than the incumbents of the time.
Now that they’re each the monopolistic incumbent, they have no need to do anything better than their competition.

Those EV R&D subsidies are just socialization of that risk. The risk is still there regardless of who is paying to mitigate it.
Frankly, automotive products are so entrenched that no automotive company needs any social support at all.

IMHO most therapists are just facilitating you ‘sorting your own shit out’. Which means any method of ‘shit sorting’ will help.
The most effective therapy I’ve ever had was from a friend who, rather than saying “deal with it” said “find a way to deal with it”.

That’s very cool.
Art is therapy and you’ve found some that’s less commercialized.
Rock on (or whatever your preferred genres are).
Conway’s Game of Life gives me existential dread.
