  • There can still be a huge bubble to pop and still have it be just as transformative as the author thinks it will be

The Internet itself is a prime example, it similarly was massively over-hyped for the time. The bubble grew and popped and while billions of monies were lost and a lot of companies went under, ultimately it did little to stop or even slow the transformative-ness of it (for better or for worse). In the end, it didn’t even slowdown online shopping.

But I think he was also exaggerating to a point, because like you said he’s personally invested even if he’s not “laying the foundation”. But, how much is he off? A couple years? 5 or 10? That’s still not a lot of time to lay preparations with properly functioning governments and considering the current state of affairs as it is…

  • From the artists Reddit thread:

Thank you! In Slavic tradition (it can be found in some Germanic and north Italian places too), the people would dress up as spirits to thwart the evil spirits, while also singing Christmas carols. This was originally a pagan tradition that got embedded in Christianity. They’d hold an avatar for the Sun, to signify that the Sun is returning, the days are getting longer. The tradition is generally called Koliada.

So, just people dressed up as spirits, looks sick though lmao

  • I definitely think the main developer publicly having those opinions is awful though. Projects have had drops in support for less.

To be clear, it’s the fact that they run what many on the outside perceive to be “the flagship” instance. Had they run an instance in the same manner, but with their admin profiles and identities disconnected from their dev accounts…we wouldn’t be here right now.

Then it would be easy to dismiss the Triad when advocating the Threadiverse to mainstream users as just “random instances that many others block”, just like hex and grad
