I just stopped using it one day in 2017 and haven’t looked back. I keep up with friends and family directly through messages, so I’m not missing out on anything.

Yeah mine goes up and down too, I’ve mostly been using it standing up but I’m sure I’ll end up sitting down more as the novelty wears off! I think my walking pad arrives today so hopefully I can give it a spin soon.

I feel very fortunate that we’ve not had the intensity of the heat that those down south have been having. My sister lives in West Sussex and said it hasn’t rained for months!

It’s been quite uneventful for us. Just extremely busy as my wife works evenings, so it’s straight from work to sorting dinner and the kids bedtime on my own most evenings, which takes bloody ages as our youngest doesn’t seem to crash until 10pm. Having the extra income takes a huge pressure off me as I’ve been the sole income earner for pretty much 13 years, however the downside is that I have very little free time.

Got my new glasses which means no more fucking about with contacts.

I’ve been really enjoying my standing desk! I’ve gone and ordered a walking pad, so hopefully I can rack up 10k steps a day. On the days I don’t go for a run a lunch, I can end up doing less than 2k steps a day!

I guess it depends on why they’re selling. For some, it won’t be worth the financial penalty and will just stay put.

That’s ultimately the answer and how the game is supposed to work. Lower the prices enough and someone will buy.

But people don’t want to then sell their property for £50k+ less than they paid for it, and I can understand their reluctance. So rather than just accept a lower price, they take the property off the market and just wait things out. Only those desperate enough will lower their price significantly, but I’d imagine those people would be a rarity.

So now you end up with house prices that don’t really fall in any meaningful way and social mobility is hurt, which has wider implications.

Sorry for your loss mate. The gap between them passing and the funeral feels stressful and it’s only after where you feel like you can truly process things. At least that’s been my experience anyway.

Managed to lose my glasses at Chester Zoo last week, so I’ve been wearing contacts all week.

Bought myself a new standing desk so I’m looking forward to that arriving. Hoping to get a new chair and walking pad too and get some steps in.

Also my new bike arrived (Trek FX 2 Hybrid), it’s the first non-mountain bike that I’ve owned and can’t believe how quick it is! I’ve only ridden it twice though so far as I’m really struggling to find the time to do anything lately.

Maybe I just don’t know enough how these work, as I’ve never heard of stacked prs before.

What does the workflow look like? Can the first PR be merged and deployed without the other prs being approved and merged first? Or do they all need to be approved and it all gets merged together?

This reminds me, I’ve got two parking charges from taking my dad to the hospital 🙁 I paid and displayed the blue badge but didn’t choose the correct option when paying, which has cost me £140.

Maybe I’m being dumb but I don’t see the point? Just be disciplined in creating smaller PRs?
