more correctly every wineprefix. Depending on how you install games, they might not be running in separate wineprefixes, but I believe steam does it that way

you can remove the Z drive letter, but that’s not enough. Nothing prevents a windows program from attempting to call linux syscalls
just bother to look around?
tell that to nouveau devs being unable to set a reasonable gpu frequency

lol wtf, I don’t know what is the post about but you have worked hard for all these downvotes. here, take mine
Voting doesn’t matter
voyager keeps a local count, it helps to tell apart people who frequently talk like you
So fuck everyone.
thanks, you too

it’s the best car I’ve ever owned
you own nothing. you drive a remote controllable car with a helpful built-in surveillance system affecting people not only in it, but outside everywhere you drive.

you don’t request the permission from the teacher though. It’s a school policy and a teacher likely cannot overrule it anyway. you request the permission from the principal or the school psychologist, or whoever deals with kids special needs.

yes, git is a godsend. but who will you trust that they checked the new code, and found nothing bad? different people have different expectations too.

then you can keep using the soon enshittified letterboxd, I guess, if that’s your cup of tea, and shun everyone trying to do something to improve the situation. I’m sure reddit too has more people users than lemmy, btw.

it could be done without VR, like first person games do

have you ever used Gentoo? if you do, you know how long it takes to build updated software from source code.
vetting all that, even just the changes would take a lot more time. and it’s a constant effort.

In addition, Fdroid vets apps far better than Google ever has so I’m comfortable with the app’s security.
I agree but they aren’t checking every version for malicious changes. they would likely only get to know if a user checks it and notices it, and the developer could just make the change for a single release version.
of course that applies to any app but this handover/takeover was very sketchy.

with that you need to type the unlock password for every single read and search, right?

I think the site stores my password in its original form, without hashing. its way too common, even at high profile services like banks, university or government systems.

I don’t think this is part of trumps trend, but by the last heading I think the recent article of LibreOffice might have prompted it
they could be doing that already, throwing away messages that contain certain words
