I did cross check some articles on Google scholar that seemed to line up with the results but I only had 15 minutes so take that for what you will
It really depends on how much heat is actually making it to the alcohol, which relies on a lot of factors but you’re right fresh short cooking applications most of the alcoholic usually remains.
That’s a valid place to land, and I know it’s exhausting, You’re overcoming a prejudice that you had no place in creating, It’s exhausting.
I don’t have any quick fixes for you or even any good advice other than that it does get better.
Everyone deserves to love and be loved honestly. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•The downfall of company logos
15·7 days agoThe new Kia logo looks like they slanted the nine inch nails logo and called it a day.
It might not and you can choose to be defeatist about that but I’d rather keep trying, both by voting and by organizing within my community
In order to even engage them with that fact you’d have to live in the same reality unfortunately

That was on a capstone project that was supposed to take all semester, I wanted to die by the time that was over. I should also note that this is before LLM’s existed
I hope no one actually talks like that to coworkers, and if they do and they’re reading this, this is your cue

Gaming@lemmy.zip•The Witcher 4 is the work of over twice as many CD Projekt staff as The Witcher 3, in a fresh display of how blockbluster team sizes have balloonedEnglish
13·11 days agoIt’d be interesting to see a comparison of the project teams along with their jobs and timelines.
Is it consumer expectations for graphics and scale driving the change? Is it management trying to align itself with the rest of the industry? It’s clear this is unsustainable so answering there’s questions is the first step to navigating the issue.
All meaning is defined from within, the fact that there’s no one keeping score is what makes it matter.
If you need a diety or the concept of karmic balance in order to do what you know to be right then I’m not sure you really believe in it.

3·13 days agoSorry, to be more exact I should have said efficiency.
I was taking into account energy lost due to conversion at the engine where an ICE is between 20 and 25% efficient, or wheel to wheel efficiency if you will, I thought that would have been self-explanatory.

461·13 days agoWhat irks me so much about electric cars is that, while their energy density is much better than that of ICE cars, and they have the potential to increase it further as battery technology advances, when you compare them to even the most modest form of public transport, public transport wins by such a landslide that it’s laughable.

politics @lemmy.world•Why Trump isn’t bothering to hide his corruption
42·13 days agoIt has a self-reinforcing effect: it enforces the idea that this is normal and that the system is working as intended. Even though most of us know that this is only the case because the people who are supposed to hold him accountable are beholden to him, from the outside, it looks as though this is how things should be. This makes change seem hopeless and normalises tyranny, resulting in lasting damage and a chilling effect that will persist for years.
As long as there is no threat of accountability, there is no incentive to conceal corruption. By performing the act without defence in plain sight, it is legitimised and societal expectations are shifted.
Discussing theory with people who agree with 99% of what I say feels like gladiatorial combat on here most days, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

This is been my argument for a long time, People don’t care, People just want to do what they know.
