Au contraire, written by the participants who agree it’s in their mutual best interest not to have certain things on the table. Evils agreed to be too evil even for war, or guidelines that result in less utter fucking carnage when mutually followed.
If you suspect them, you could demand they surrender and prepare to be boarded, and legally give them warning shot, and then shoot them if they don’t comply.
If the ship sailing under false colors began to shoot under another flag, that’s a War Crime.
It’s very possible moral in the context of your own time. To still be seen as a moral bastion, centuries after the public discourse has advanced beyond anything you’ve ever been really exposed to is astonishing, so much so that some people are remembered specifically for that.
I’m sure in a century or two, 99.99% of us here will hold at least one view that is seen as reprehensible to the future zeitgeist. Grandpa and Grandma having some dated views isn’t something recent, after all XD
I wouldn’t say Americans hate the French, we just have a friendly rivalry based on who can be the most arrogant!
They had us during the early years, we had them during the bad years, we have a long and brotherly history with those frog eating surrender monkeys :)
Camoflage is a legitimate war tactic. So long as you didn’t fire before raising your actual flag, it was a legitimate ruse-de-guerre to get closer to an enemy.
Also where the phrase “showing your true colors” comes from. It’s pretty neat how phrases centuries or decades removed from relevance still have a place in language!

My buddy back in college used to have random panic attacks. A calm conversation about something unrelated and a bannana would help a lot.
Something about eating slowly seems to short circuit the panic part of the brain, or maybe the blowjob jokes associated with eating a bannana slowly
Funnily enough, I came upon Scotty Doesn’t Know years before I ever watched Eurotrip, love both!

After all the moral high-horse bullshit, its genuinely disgusting what people are willing to handwave away when it’s their guy.

What the Hunters see out the window a couple hours after a “hugely sucessful” raid on the Wizard’s chantry, duh!
They will return the tome and atone for their wrongs.
